Prudhoe (Pruda) XC Report - Saturday 22/03/03
Ok, so this was the last XC race of the season, and we confirmed our, how can we put it, shear dominance, throughout the season by claiming our best team victory of the season, beetin' Sunderland by a staggering 12 points. Can anyone handle us? As you can see, we don't like blowing our own trumpet so, well we won't, and we'll simply tell you about the race:
It were a boilin hot day, hotter than last week @ Consett, and once we'd trekked up to the start, (ask George about the hill cause he were strugglin up it - just managing to get there in time to start the lasses off) we looked @ the course which was like "downhill, UPHILL" and when we say uphill we mean verticle, well maybe not quite but it certainly felt like it. Us Morpeth U17's finished in this order:
Andrew Lawrence (1st),
Sean Kirtley (4th)
Gareth Driscoll (5th)
John Travis (11th)

The heat certainly took it's toll cause a few had to pull out and even stop at some points.
So, thats it for this XC season, but a kanny way to end it like. 'Race Victory', 'Race Team Victory,' 'Overall team victory.' Not only this but we've picked up medals at the Norther Easterns - where we won it, Northerns where we came third and also the nationals where we can 3rd.
